DropsLook

A luxury fashion marketplace where clients buy new designer pieces from boutiques and outlets in Italy and France through personal shoppers: in chat, on video and with a protected payment.

Challenge
The best pieces in Italian boutiques never appear online. A buyer abroad cannot see the item, check the size or trust a stranger with the money.
My role
Architecture and development of the mobile app for iOS and Android: two roles in one app, product feed with video, chat with offers and voice messages, video review booking, checkout, payments and shopper payouts.

DropsLook app: product feed, product page and chat with a personal shopper

Context

DropsLook connects buyers with personal shoppers who walk into boutiques and outlets in Italy and France. The client picks an item in the feed or asks for a specific one, the shopper finds it, shows it on video, confirms the size and buys it. Every item is checked for authenticity before it is shipped. The app has been on the App Store and Google Play since December 2023.

It is a marketplace with two sides, and both live in one app: the client who buys and the shopper who sells, each with a separate flow, profile and balance.

My role

I was the architect and developer of the mobile app for iOS and Android, built with Flutter on a Firebase and Python backend.

  • Two roles in one app. A client can browse, follow shoppers and buy. A shopper passes verification, publishes products and videos, answers clients and gets paid. One account can switch between the roles.
  • Feed with photo and video. Products, shopper posts and limited-time offers with a countdown, filtered by audience, category, brand, price and location.
  • Video inside the app. A shopper records a product video, trims it and publishes it. Video plays first in the product carousel, because for a luxury item it sells better than any photo.
  • The deal happens in chat. Text, photos and voice messages, product offers from the shopper, size confirmation, a payment timer and checkout from the same thread.
  • Video review by appointment. The client books a time slot and the shopper shows the item live before the purchase.
  • Checkout for several shoppers at once, card payment, order tracking and reviews after delivery.
  • Money for the shopper. Balance, payout details and withdrawal requests, plus a referral programme with cashback for clients.
  • My sizes. The client saves body measurements once, so the shopper picks the right size and fewer orders come back.

Result

DropsLook is live on the App Store and Google Play, with more than 5,000 downloads on Google Play and a 5.0 rating on the App Store. The app is still being updated: the latest release came out in April 2026.
